The family moved to the farm in the late 1970s at a time when farming was growing and opportunities were plentiful if you had the gumption to work hard for them. Rendham Hall had been a dairy farm for many decades before and the family continued to milk cows here until May 2016. The herd was always managed with the environment at heart and as competition for milk price increased sadly the sustainability of the low intensity set up was not viable.

Every cloud has a silver lining and in our case it was the beautiful slice of Suffolk that was left behind when the cows moved on. Our giant hedges, mature tree lines and ancient pastures make the perfect habitat for a wide variety of nature. We’re also heavily involved with Natural England working to promote nature’s development even further with various planting schemes and feeding programmes. The building originally converted from a bull holding pen to a milk processing and local delivery business now lends it’s self as our Main Campsite Building (or the Beehive as our little boy calls it) and we’re really pleased with the facilities available for you. Birds and Bees Campsite is a whole new chapter in our farming history and we look forward to welcoming you and sharing our peaceful and beautiful green oasis.
Now the second generation, James and Emma both grew up on farms and love the great outdoors, and their children Percy and Boe following in their footsteps. With a love of nature, wildlife and the fresh air coupled with a sense of calm serenity at Birds and Bees, we hope you can share these simple pleasures in harmony with nature, with us.
